Why is everyone so jealous of Italy winning the world cup?

i dont know but im not jealous or anythin even though i did want France to win... Italy won i gotta accept that they won... they are a good team and they kinda a lil deserve to win and they did...so congrats Italy

Simply because people are always jealous of others success. Apparently more so when the success is undeserved, in their opinions. Italian team got over Australia in the death match with a dubious last minute dive-penalty. Therefore the opinion is that they shouldn't even be in the final :)

If France wins, there'll just be as many complaining, because apparently they dived to get past Portugal, and dived to get a penalty against Italy in the final.

Between the two evils, I'll choose Italy, at least they onnly got 1 dubious penalty. France has two.

I share your pain. It's unfortunate that people just cannot concede the fact that Italy was the best team this World Cup. There's one thing you can be sure of, however,- In 4 years everyone will be jealous of the next champion. There cannot be a winner without an army of sore losers.

Not sure if I've seen any evidence of jealousy. However, many countries take the Cup as a treasure of national pride. Soccer is probably the most universal of sports. Even 3rd world nations can field great teams. Few sports can boast such participation and viewership in so many contintents...its almost like the Olympics in that most everyone roots for their home team.

Americans are probably the least supportive of their team as

A) American born citizens generally are not soccer fans
B) First Generation Americans have ties still to home countries.

I've seen many in Los Angeles with t-shirts supporting teams from Brasil to Germany, to Italy and yes, France too.

Everyone is so jealous because France was the favorite and when Italy won many people were jealous. Myself, I'm happy Italy won 'cause it teaches France a Lesson: Never win to Brazil

People aren't jealous. Most people wonder if a country that is involved in a huge cheating scandal did bring alittle of that with them to the world cup. Also Italy looked like they were in acting class and not the world cup most of the time.

Italy was the better team in pre-match predictions, but they were outplayed by the French who failed to score a second goal in 120 minutes. To win a Penalty shoot-outs you need some luck and a goalkeeper who's good at saving penalties and that's not Fabian Barthes. I think that people were disappointed with the defensive football that Italy plays. They expected a more spectacular final game and not one own on penalties...They expected Italy to play like Brazil but they didn't...
