Eh, sure.
I found that head butt thing more funny than violent really.
I don't think it was necessary. But, yeah. Whatever. Metarazzi is an asshole, and I think he deserved it for his little comment.

Have none of you people never done anything that you weren't ashamed of or at the very least horribly embarrassed about. Zidane did not leave the field with his head held high strutting like a peacock but Materazzi did; however, if you go back and look on the FIFA site at the pictures of him putting that hat on the World Cup you will notice many of his fellow players looking at him and the expression on their faces is not one of approval. Everyone knew what was at stake for Zidane in that game and Materazzi, like a snake in the grass shamelessly taunted someone who was exhausted and injured but still giving the game and his country everything he had left in him. Yes, he deserved the Golden Ball and he also deserves at the very least an acknowledgment from FIFA that they recognize that his actions were provoked even though they could not understandably approve of his handling of the affair. I also think they should fine Materazzi and penalize him for inciting the incident. As for apologies, I do not think Zidane should apologize to Materazzi - perhaps to the French people but not Materazzi. As for an apology to Zidane from Materazzi - that would be like getting an apology from the devil himself.

Yeas, Zidane is the best player of the World Cup. And Materazzi should be put behind bars, or at least suspended for life from a soccer field. I'll support that!

he is a footballing icon who is, sorry was respected around the world.now people look at him as no more than an aging thug who's no better than anyone else.he brought shame on his team, country, family and the world cup.he was the captain who is supposed to set an example to the rest of his team.he was an exceptional talent who has now tarnished his career with one stupid action. he is a disgrace and should be banned from ever setting foot on a football pitch ever again.

Sure, maybe headbutting someone in the chest could become a criteria for claiming the golden ball. Had the outcome been worst, he may have enjoyed the golden ball in jail.

You are clearly dillusional. There is NO justification for what Zidane did. He has no class and he is a disgrace to his team. I wish Canavarro would have won, he was clearly the person who merited that award. That clip that you posted was dumb.
