He was evil and horribly misguided. He took Darwin literally.
He was however a great leader in that he could influence such large masses of people to do what they did.

There is no way to give a nonbiased answer to a question like that. All that ever gets stated in the media or in any publications about Hitler are all genocide and holocaust. No one takes into account that no matter what the Treaty of Versailles states, Germany was protecting an ally and had no influence on beginning of the first World War. Hitler was defending his people when he came to power. To impose sactions on a country, fine them what translates to trillions of dollars in today's currency, strip them from land that had belonged to them for hundreds of years, and limit their military to 100, 000 soldiers with no artillery is a embarrassment to a world power. If that were to happen in this country, you can bet I would follow anyone that can promise a way out. Hitler was a hero to those that had nothing and wanted their lives back. He was a tyrant to those he had to step on to give those lives back.

I hope you're kidding. Seriously, the man was charismatic enough to brainwash the entire country into believing that certain ethnic types and what he considered degenerates to be the enemy. Anyone who attempts to play God in such a way is Evil. I really hope that survivors don't read this question, because if they do you're really going to get more than an earful. Have you seen a history book? Did you see the pictures of what his "ideals" did to people? Do yourself a favor, before you ask a question like this again, please do some research. As for this question, please visit the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC. If you can walk out of those halls and not know in your heart what the answer is, then you need serious professional help.

How can you ask such a question??? The man killed millions of people just for the fun of it in a very cruel way. How can people forget the horrors this man perpetrated on a certain race he felt was beneath him? He committed genocide! The man was evil no doubt about it! I don't think anyone answered this question better than tinydancer42001. Thank you for your insite tinydancer42001...I wish more people opened their brain just enough to let information flow into their narrow little minds. I hope there arn't any survivors reading this either. It really is a shame people just don't see what is plain as day.

Evil in almost every way possible. But a hero in terms of cartoon comedy. It ushered in a new level of comedy. It gave the rest of the world a release to see him get his *** kicked by Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck back then (apparently, those cartoons are never to be aired again), and his cameo appearances on Family Guy just can't be beat. Hey, I'm being honest here. It's funny seeing Hitler get turned on by a cartoon Christian Slater's butt. lol

He was a hero to some and evil to others, depending on your perspective. Much like George Bush. I think he is evil but some think he is a hero. Not very many but some.

Hitler and stalin were both evil, but they couldn't have done what they did with out the big banks of new york financing them, so who's more evil? the dictators or the money boys that gave them the where with it all so they could afford to stay in power as long as they did.

Evil bugger! But in my perspective, the Jews were worse seeing as they put up with that crap! There were so many of them and many times they walked in lines after a hard day of work carrying pick axes and shovels...why didn't they team up and start beating on those guards when they had a chance?? They could have started their own 'civil war' in those camps. Many would have still died but I don't understand how they just sulked, followed along and let it happen! Keep in mind, I wasn't there so maybe I just don't see the big picture.

He was a military genius. The germans attempt to conquer the U. S. S. R. was a game of push and hold. For the U. S. S. R it was a game of hold then back up and burn. His military genius was rivaled only by Napoleon. And yet strangely enough they both made the same BIG mistake of trying to beat the Russian winter. I'm not a Russian but we could not have done it without them.
