I don't understand the people of this country (Australia) anymore. We used to stick up for the aussie battler and the underdog. Now most of us have been turned into underdogs and economic slaves. Who can eel secure in a climate like this? Howard has turned back the clock at least a hundred years. The economy is doing well but at the expense of the people. We are working harder than ever, longer then ever and with no job security.

I despise these new industrial laws as much as I despise that lying toad, Howard. Wake up Australia. We do not need this crap. He is destroying family life and our peace of mind in the worst way.

Even if Labor hasn't got their act together I would rather that than more of this dictatorial rule. Get rid of this guy!!!!

The laws aren't that stupid, nor are they against workers. The laws you reference about scrapping unfair dismissal only applies to small business's'. Unlawful dismissal is still in place for every job.
My family owns a small business, only 10 employees, yet under the old laws we were unable to sack someone who had stolen $30000 from us over 5 years because it would not be 'fair' that we didn't give her training and help to get over the reason she should have been fired.
The GST is old news, it wasn't an extra tax added, it was a cleaning up of the tax system, most advanced countries use a GST of some form, its always been a popular thing that governments wanted to install, the only problem is it was considered political suicide to try and get it introduced because the public opinion of taxes is never good, and its easy to skew.
There is no real reason, nor a much better alternative, to vote John Howard out. We Australians still live in one of the best countries to live in in the whole world. We don't really have much to complain about compared to many eastern European, Asian, African or South American countries.
