me my sisters and my mother are constantly getting our hair pulled and ppl keep asking is it real...it gets really annoying at times..we thought it was b/c they thought black women couldn't have hair past their shoulders- but then...my sisters cut their hair..and they still get it pulled and people are still asking...
black girlsdo it too... n no1 bothers my friend..n out hair is about the same length... her hair texture is just more coarse(thicker strands) than mine
and then some will ask questions like..why do all black girls wear weave... - women of all races wear extensions...2 keep their hair healthy or just 2 sport a new style
and why can't my hair actually b mine?

Most people don't realize that yes, black women can have long hair. It is a stereotype that black women can't have long hair that is not a weave and it is really stupid. Some people might actually be curious but they don't realize how rude they are being. I once read this story online from this author who was black and had long hair. This woman came up to her and started putting her hands in the author's hair and was asking if her hair was fake or real. The author was shocked but then grabbed the woman's breasts and asked "Are these real?"

There are women in south Louisiana that have very very dark skin and long straight hair.I have seen Israeli's with very course curly hair Some red haired people have course frizzy hair. Its what makes us individuals.I think its wrong to touch or pull another's hair or ask is it real.. Its like people asking you what you paid for something its a very trashy thing to do. Black women can have so called good hair just like white women can have bad hair.

I guess people are looking at the texture and if it is very fne silky straight they will assume that it cannot belong to you but we just need to get over this hair thing India says it best I am not my hair . . .I am the soul that lives within

Hey, you must be something to see. Be proud of your beauty and tell the rude people to stop pawing at you, it's your hair after all, you should be in control of who touches it.

people are so rude. the nerve of people putting their hands on your hair! i guess it's sort of a compliment, but you should tell them straight out that they're being rude and you don't appreciate it.
