i have 2 beloved pet bluegills that i caught from a pond, Norman and Fransis. They live happily in a 40 or more gallon fishtank, mine live in a 50 gallon w/ my 4 goldfish happily.......they eat worms, canned tuna(drop a piece in for each fish and save the rest for later) they eat cooked leftover white meats, corn, pinkies (dead frozen newborn mice that u can get at pet stores) live mealworms, crickets, really tiny fish, and stuff like that.....they like to have friends that they can fallow around a tank, and they like to jump up and splash u when they r really hungry...they tend to be a little agressive at times.......if u want to keep bluegills, get 2, get a big tank w/ a cover and filters and an air pump, and make sure u go to a petstore and get plants (live or fake) that they can hide in....i usually give them a worm a day and theyre happy....the other stuff i use as treats

It will die leave it in the lake. You can buy fish in the store that get big some bigger than a bluegill. They are bred for tanks so they will live. My sister had one and it knew her it are out of her hands.
