There are a number of ways this can be done. Which you choose is dependent upon where the pond is and what you want to do with it. You can put an aeration system in the pond to keep the water moving. You could get some ducks or other water foul to put in the pond - they will eat the vegetation. You could put a chlorination system in to kill the vegetation.

These are just a few possibilities. You might want to check out some books in your library on ponds. There are as many ways to overcome the problem as there are people who have encountered the problem. The thing to do is to find the system that best fits your intent for the pond.
