Even little kids who have never seen him "out of Jack Sparrow mode", or don't care about his looks can identify him and just think he's great. Why is that?

He's a decent guy, he is very very very good to his fans. He was rated number one with fans because he will sign autographs all the time, takes time to talk to the media, isn't an a**, and he is also a man of mixed race, which to me is very positive to see in an A-list actor, and kids of all nationalities can identify with him without it being about race. That's a hard feat. Also, if you have seen all of his movies or just a handful, even if they are good or not, HE ALWAYS DELIVERS. He plays a variety, and I mean, he is probably the most versatile actor in the world. You can't doubt his charisma.

But seriously he's a great guy. He always takes time to sign autographs for his fans and talk to the media. He's not a jerk like most actors are. He's also a great actor and his movies are always interesting to see. Plus it doesn't hurt that he's gorgeous! :)

he is fascinating because he is non conventional-his roles get him recognized yes, but they are not the typical roles that the "Hollywood guys" would take. He had the ability to become a hearthrob, pretty boy actor and took the opposite with roles that were quirky and unattractive to other actors, creating a depth to him

I have no clue....I Just love Jack Sparrow though......I guess it's because he look so fine in that movie and i love the movie it just has so much action.....

Because he gives himself over to a role. I'm an acting student, and I can tell you now that doing what he does isn't easy, it's painfull. People recognise that in him.
