You can work when you are under 16 but you are restricted by Child Labor Laws. These determine the hours, days and equipment you can work with. Most McDonalds prefer to hire those that are 16 and over because they are not restricted by these laws.

The minimum employment age is 14, I'm pretty sure McDonalds hires at that age

It depends on the local franchise. Around here some hire at 14, some not until 16.

It depends on your state rules. Most hire at the age of 16 but if you parents permission and the state rules say an age younger than 16 then there you go....

In ohio its 15 and you are limited to how many hours you can work a week, I think its not past 7 on a school night.
