Why do we park on a driveway, but drive on a parkway?

i know the reason why we drive on a parkway. the parkway, back in the day, were the only road that lead to state parks. so that was the way you took to get to the park. no idea about the driveway.

A parkway is "the way" to the "park", which since we don't roll horse and buggy style anymore, the government paved em and said 'drive!'

that question has been asked so many times on here. I think we park on a driveway and park on a driveway just so we could have something to ponder like why does sour cream have an expiration date?
