amazon... here's why:
1) No bidding (that I know of). The seller is selling at a price s/he is comfortable with. So less likely the seller will play games to send you the product.
2) If you are buying from Amazon, you see the description of the product on the MAIN page with what the REAL product offers. SO, a seller can't say, well, hey, this important piece of the thing you ordered doesn't come with it.
3) Amazon usually caters to people who sell more than just the one item you are looking for. They are professional sellers and are directly affected if you leave negative feedback. E-bay tends to cater to individuals who are trying to sell something old, used, something they can profit from and that is less reliable. I mean, why would someone sell something if it is just an amazing thing.
4) Amazon acts as a better intermediary than e-bay does. As in, you can complain to amazon, and they'll ask the seller and this will affect ALL of the person's products. Also, they give you an A-to-Z guarantee that your product arrives as the seller promised (on-time, with the appropriate quality, etc.)

E-bay. More users from around the world use it as opposed to amazon. This means you get better selection. However, if you are looking for new products...definetely Amazon. E-bay is better about used stuff (matter of opinion of course).
Good luck!

I don't know that one is better than the other, but I prefer Ebay.
