An alkali solution is any solution that contains a greater-than-normal concentration of OH- ions in water. Now if a salt is dissolved in water, it dissociates into its constituent cations (positively charged ions) and anions (negatively charged ions). In particular, if a salt is formed between a metal and any other anion, the metal will become a cation in solution. If the solution is alkaline, the OH- ions will react with the metal cations to form hydroxides (XOH, where X is some metal, e.g. NaOH). If these hydroxides happen to be insoluble, they will rapidly leave the solution following this reaction - or in other words, they will precipitate.

My first thought is read your chemistry book. My second is only a guess, so read the material, just in case. Hydroxides of "other" metals can be precipitated by adding solutions of alkalis to the solutions of their (metals?) salts. Like I said, just re organizing the words and that's not really going to help on a test or homework. Try a search engine on the web to look up key words, like chemistry, solutions, salts, alkali and what precipitate means in a chemistry context. Leach out of, or seperate from may be what "precipitate" means, but as I said, do the research.
I don't do homework since my kids grew up.
If this isn't for a class, do the same.

insoluble hydroxides:calcium and magnesium OH are sparingly soluble and other metal OH are insoluble except Na and K OH.the solutions of their salts (metal) for eg CuCl2 reacts with alkali NaOH then Cu(OH)2 formed is insoluble!
I think i am right

So, take a step lower back for a minute and notice in case you comprehend your self. :-)

well metal hydroxide salts are insoluble for a lot of things. just memorize the solubility rules. if it's heavy it won't dissolve and will ppt out.
