I am 34 weeks pregnant and have gestational diabetes. I had a very uneventful first and most of second trimester, but then I took the lovely glucose tolerance test at the Dr's and failed, so they made me do the whole 3-hour poke-you-in-the-arm-4-times test at the clinic and three days later I was layed up in a hospital bed with horrible stabbing pains in my side. That's when they told me I have gestational diabetes and low amniotic fluid as well as lots of scar tissue from my C-section with my son three years ago. SO...I had to stay the night in the hospital with an IV to up my fluid and gave me some mild pain pills to take when the baby gets on the part of my uterus that was cut during my last C-section. They also had me attend some classes on how to manage my gestational diabetes (special diet and checking my blood sugar 4 times daily and peeing on a stick every morning). My husband has been my rock and has been so incedibly understanding and supportive even when I cried because I couldn't have any Dippin Dots at the mall (ridiculous I know). It's hard sometimes when everyone else is eating all these yummy things and I have always been thin and able to eat whatever I want and suddenly can't. All of this is so worthwhile when I am laying in bed at night with my husband's hand on my enormous belly feeling our little girl doing her nightly arobics. Our three year old son is really excited and wants to help give his sister baths and sing her nite-nite songs. It is incredible that I have the ability to make all of our dreams come true by sacrificing 9 months of my bodily comfort. I wouldn't change anything for the world.

I'm in my 7th month, too! For one thing, it seems like this pregnancy has FLEW by, by on the other hand, it feels like I have been pregnant FOREVER!
The hubby and I had been trying for a baby, with no success. It was really hard, and I had been battling depression. In December, I knew that during the time I would be ovulating would be when we would be visiting family, so I wasn't expecting a pregnancy that soon. I found out the day after New Years that I was pregnant. I was shocked, and hopeful that that darn pregnancy test was right! The hubby was shocked and happy, too. When I told my family, my dad was so excited he started jumping up and down. My mom kept saying, "Are you sure?". LOL. I had a LOT of morning sickness. Some people get over their morning sickness after the 1st trimester....not I! I had that darn "morning sickness" well into my 2nd, and nearly my third trimester. I don't think I have really had any weird cravings, but I have been MAJORLY hungry ALL the time. Foods that I liked before I was pregnant (for example, macaroni, fried okra, peas) are utterly disgusting to me, now. And some foods that I never liked taste UTTERLY divine, now! I began to feel my baby move back in April...I guess I was 5 months along. She has gotten bigger and her kicks and rolls are MUCH stronger, now. Now, I can sit and watch her move around my stomach. It looks like a waterbed! LOL.

I was very happy since it was believed that I couldn't conceive. I went from 118 to 186. All chest, butt, and belly, lol. By my 4th month my chest went from 36c to 38d and I leaked milk , which was a pain since I had to sleep with a bra and breast pads. Only a week of morning sickness, no other problems besides that. My labor was 18 hours. 8 1/2 hrs with nothing. Then epidural, which stupid nurses weren't watching, anesthesiologist was doing a breach birth, so had to go with out it. Bad pain, lol, I didn't have time to get used to them because of the earlier epidural. Pushing for 3 hours, his head was turned the wrong way and he was stuck. They finally had to pull him out.
I remember crying and saying I never wanted to experience that kind of pain again. I was told I would forget, lol.
I did though.
Named my son Armaund after his father...he is one of the best things that ever happened to me.

For almost 2 weeks I had mild cramping and thought for sure my period was going to come. I kept thinking "I wish it would just start already so these cramps would go away!" it never did because I was pregnant. The cramps went away when I was about 5 1/2 weeks along.
