Search engines look at the following factors in ranking websites, though in varying degrees of importance:

- Age of the Content
- Keyword density
- How it fares in the results
- Site structure
- Backlinks

If you are going to read only one piece on search engine optimization, I suggest you read Brett Tabke of WebmasterWorld.com's "Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone: 26 steps to 15k a day." http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/2010.htm

WebmasterWorld.com http://www.webmasterworld.com has different sections that cover various aspects of search engine optimization, and each section is participated in by respected webmasters and even search engine employees (e.g. there's a GoogleGuy that responds to Google topics)

There are a few tricks that will help you with search engine traffic, I will share a brief list with you (1) Have related and regularly updated content on your site, sites with content rate higher with search engines than "plain advertising" site (no contents just ads)
(2) promote your site, by posting your website URL (web address) in your emails, related forums, groups etc to your website. Even posting your website address in your question in a site that is already indexed by search engines robots/spiders, the search engines robots automatically follow the links. Due to its regular updated content..Yahoo Answers get indexed regularly by search engines
(3) Submit your site to multiple search engines, best to do this manually
(4) have links to related sites, inbound links and outbound links, make sure your outbound links are to related site (same field)...(to get inbound links, find a site similar to yours and email the webmaster and ask if you can exchange links)
(5) try to offer your visitors something free, newsletters, samples etc...For the site that I used visit the link below

I'd pass on this SEO company since they engage in Black Hat SEO techniques [which is not proper], especially when you take into account their current metatag which contains spamdexed/duplicate entries: "Search Engine Optimization on Chicago Illinois | SE Consultants For SMO and PPC | Chicago SEO Firm | Wakensys Chicago Illinois." Why is Chicago entered three times, when one entry is sufficient? One wonders if this SEO company truly believes that they can also "load" metatag entries for their client's website as well. Good luck!

 2016-03-27 00:13:40 · answer #4 · answered by Norine 4 · 0⤊ 0⤋

Build links for other sites to yours!
