What i call "great" means "beautiful location" (on the beach or in the forest), quiet with remote areas (i hate camping a couple of feet from the other campers) and if possible not too many people:)

You sound like you would appreciate the parks run by the provincial government more. They are generally more remote, and back to nature, with lots of trees. Very different than private sites, that are more crowded, BUT may offer more services. Nature verses modern life is the trade off. Miracle Beach is about 20 km, or 15 minutes north of Courtney/Comox.

Attached is the BC Parks description and reservations. Also the list to find a park anywhere in BC.

If that is booked, my second recommendation is Puntledge RV park. It is a new campground run by the local aboriginal tribe. It is a great site, at the edge of town, yet you would never guess you are that close. However, it is exactly what you describe as what you don't want, an open Field that highlights how close you are to the next campers. Miracle Beach is actually a lot bigger, but you may not be able to tell that once you drive in and get to your campsite.

there are multiple Alberta ex-pats contained in the Comox Valley, for some reason. I stay there, halfway between Courtenay and Campbell River, and that i a twin of it. perfect position i have ever lived. The procuring is high quality. there is little or no you won't be able to get in community shops. we've were given each and each and every of the vast chains, extremely a lot, and there are some strong community shops. Comox is getting a Costco this summer time. in case you fairly won't be able to locate something right here, Nanaimo with its many shops is an hour and a 1/2 away and Vancouver's no longer that a procedures both although getting there and reduce back in an afternoon makes for a lengthy day, and positively there is on line procuring. There are some issues i will purchase each and every time i'm shifting into Vancouver, many times the added unique or fairly good nutrients issues, yet i ought to proceed to exist without them. we are starting up to get some exciting eating places, there is mind-blowing community nutrients grown throughout, there's a farmer's marketplace in Courtenay a week all three hundred and sixty 5 days lengthy, some community wineries. We actually have a newly-opened distillery, guard aspect. i love each and each and every of the exterior activities you may do round right here. trekking, boating, coastline strolling, using, snowboarding, we've all of it. in ordinary words some hours' force to Tofino. The %. is quiet, rush hour holds you up for 5 minutes at maximum, human beings are extremely pleasant. climate is powerful, slightly drier than Vancouver yet in the different case similar for temperature.

Well if you don't mind driving a bit you can take the ferry from Comox to Powell River and then the Ferry from Powell River to Texada Island. We have a beautiful campground here, where I often sit on the beach and marvel at the fact that there are so few people here. It is absouletely beautiful. Anyways I hope that helps some!
