You're not alone...im a 2nd year uni student and i can't study at home either. I don't think you have ADD, but there are just so many distractions at home, so if you do want to study at home, turn off the tv, computer, and tell everyone else to be quiet...easier said than done i know...but give it a try! Also, if you study great at the library, then keep it up...when I have to study for an exam then I have to have silence too...like the library. Also, whenever you have to study and can't concentrate, just think of how much you will regret it after your exam if you do not focus now...most of the time it just takes self control. Finally, see how well you can study with music, preferably without lyrics...and it's even proven that classical music can help you concentrate.
Hope this helps, and GOOD LUCK!!!

listen, i think the best thing for you to do is to syudy in the library. i have the same problem at home. it seems everytime i try to study something or someone just distracts me, but when you're in the library your mind seems to be into your work. it's better you do that than don't do any studies at all. if you're at the library, make sure it's you only, and you ONLY!!!!!!!!. friends are quite distracting unless it is someone who is responsible enough to keep focused on their work and talk after your studies. i recommend not to listen to music cuz you may not keep tract of what you are reading. the BEST thing is to be in a quiet comfortable atmosphere. take a few deep breaths and watch around the library every fifteen minutes of study and you can also take a break ONCE and go outside to eat or drink something and go back inside to read. you have to most of all feel good about reading and say you prayers to ward off any problems you may have....

once you're attempting to study purely in the previous checks, its continually perfect to make a procedure action for the day and evaluate it each and every 2hrs. Waking up in the previous the sunlight wakes up and meditating for approximately 10 minutes will do wonders. regardless of the indisputable fact that, its no longer had to study complicated established, although reviewing the day's route for 20 or 30 minutes established is large! for the time of study, continually reduce the problem into small sub-topics which take no more suitable than 15 minutes to finish. relaxing for a jiffy after a topic is roofed can help in tackling the subsequent topic properly. also, taking a 10-15 min spoil each and every a million hr (once you're a lower than pressure individual) is powerful. And sleep!! 8 to eight.5 hrs... sure, 8 hrs. Esp on the day of exam! Alwaaays facilitates!

Take notes in class, no music loud in the background it's best no music at all. Focus your mind on the teacher of the homework your doing do pop quizzes with the reading text they give you. Cross word puzzles with words and write out the meaning of words or terms you don't know. This sounds funny but I got my g-son up from 46-56 to a 92-96in three months he fought me for two months until he got his first 100. Try this and see your grades soar.

Often, it helps to do the opposite of concentrating. Distract yourself with loud music, television, maybe a strobe light. It helps some people to have a lot going on.

first you need to learn your learning style.. how do you learn? thru seeing? touching? hearing? or acting it up?. I am more of a visual learner I picutre things on my mind and that is how i can remind them later. I think you should first try different learning styles.. try to out info in a index card and review.. try to read outloud and talke notes later because when you write things down you are most likely to remember. Take breaks between study session have snacks like almonds and peanuts or raisins ..any type of fruit and lots watet they increase memory and your brain needs food when you are studying because it is burning alot of calories.. good luck i hope this helps u out my friend... now if u could answer my latest question that will be great because i really need opinions.. thank you alot :)

I always listened to soft, instrumental, classical music when I studied at home. And I chewed gum.

i find music helps, but it has to be on a very low volume (so i can just about hear it). it makes the work less boring. but if its too loud, i get distracted by that too.
