It is white. On a clear day, anybody can see that sunlight is white. People sometimes describe it as yellow or golden, but it is clearly white. Astronomers describe it as a yellow star because it is slightly less blue than the average star, but not much. To our eyes, light from the average star would look distinctly bluish.

The nuclear reactions occurring release photons of all visible colors and then some. However we only see a few of these with our eyes which combine to give us a yellow orange color. depending on atmospheric conditions and the direction of the earth's motion we can experience anything from a deep red to a very bright yellow, but these are not it's true color. As time passes and the sun devours it''s supply of lighter elements further fusing them into heavier and heavier compounds, it's color will change.

take a helium tank and light it on fire, if you have the guts to open your eyes while in the mist of the explosion, you will see how the sun looks like. and its probably a yellow

it is nuclear fusion, the sun emits radiation in a huge spectrum. from radio waves to xrays... the sun is white, ie all colors, look at a prism, or a rainbow... all the colors are present

It's basically a ball of fire, but all balls of fire burn out eventually. And at different stages in the burning-out process, it's at different teperatures and therefore different colors. Right now, it's yellowish and approaching white.

its actually more of a reddish orange, it is basically a large ball of fire
