Ok me and my husband dated for 4 years and we were married for 6 months. We are still legally married, we just don't live together. He was the one that cheated and the one that wanted out so I told him I wasnt going to pay for any part of the divorce.I think I have been super nice through this whole thing considering what i've been through.I stayed here 2 different times when he got sent to afghanistan and was the best girlfriend ever. All of his friends were getting cheated on while they were gone, but not mine! Then he camehome the second time and we got married 3 months later. We were only married 2 1/2 months before he had to go to New Orleans for Katrina with the guard. While he was there he decided that he was gonna be single there.Dec.6th he sent me a text message around 12ish in the am telling me he had been cheating on me the whole time he was in New Orleans! He now has a gf that I think lives w him.I now have creditors calling me b/c he is like 84 days late on his c.card payments...

The longer you are married to him the more in debt you are going to be as well. When two marry their credit report becomes one as well. If I were you I'd just get the divorce done and over with that way you arent stuck paying his bills. If you choose not to go that route, get a new phone. Like if the creditors call your house land line disconnect it. If they call your cell phone change the number. If your husband gives them the numbers give your husband the land line number and turn the ringer off and just use your cell phone. change your cell number but dont give it to your husband.

Did you say that your husband is in the military? well because if he is, he has an obligation to pay his bills by military law it's all in the UCMJ if I were you I would go to JAG on any military base and inquire about your rights

just read your message and i responed and i just want you to know that, if your husband is in the military there are curtain requirments that he needs to meet and paying his debts is one of those things all you need to do is get in contact with his command or legal on any military base and inform them of your husband neglectful ways and you will seee how fast he will have to pay.
hey you may even get him for adultry which is also punishable in the military

soon to be ex military wife of 17 years

Stop all joint credit.

Determine weather it is better to pay the bills or get a lawyer.

Work you butt off to pay off your foolish mistake of marrying a boy.

Plus look at this one 4-years of dating before marriage -- you mean to tell me you were giving the goods away for free for four years.

You were smart to be faithful but it seems to me you were dumb for putting out to a boy for four years. Bet you thought you'd marry him and he all of a sudden act like a man.

Pre-Maritial sex really paid off for you didn't it.

Girls pay attention I see this story every day!

Suck it up, and pay for the divorce so you can stop being legally responsible for his bills and his bullsh*t.
Otherwise, he's just going to ruin your life either way.

Get a lawyer and garnish his wages. Call the cc companies and tell them where to find him. They will appreciate it.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, PACK HIS STUFF, FED-EX IT TO HIM & PRETEND THIS NEVER HAPPENED. JUST LEARN FROM IT, & MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE. I DIDN'T SEE ANY KIDS MENTIONED SO CONSIDER YOURSELF LUCKY. IF HE IS LATE ON HIS CREDIT CARDS, & YOUR NAME ISN'T ON THEM, DON'T WORRY, IT'S ALL ON HIM. WASH YOUR HANDS OF THIS AWFUL EXPERIENCE, & MAKE YOURSELF HAPPY. LIFE IS TOO SHORT FOR DEALING WITH THESE PITIFUL MEN.
