You can boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key at the top of your keyboard while Windows is loading.
A surer way to boot into Safe Mode is to run msconfig:
Open the Start Menu, select run, and type in "msconfig" in the field and click OK. The System Configuration Utility will then open.
Select the BOOT.INI tab and check the "/SAFEBOOT" option. If you need to access the network, select the "NETWORK" radio option as well.
Click OK.
Click Restart when prompted.
After you boot into safe mode and do everything you need to do to clean the Spyware/Viruses, you'll want to do the following:
Open the Start Menu, select run, and type in "msconfig" in the field and click OK. The System Configuration Utility will then open.
Select Normal Startup from the first tab and click OK.
Click Restart when prompted.

My question to you is, did your Online protection program tell you this or was it a popup message saying this, and to fix it you need to buy this program?
This is important to know. If it really came from you Online Protection AV program then you are probably better off reformatting your Computer.
If it came from the type of popup message I described, then it is a Spyware program often called Extortion Ware. If this is the case, go to this site and run the free online scan and removal. Remove all it finds.
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Anything it finds and cannot remove needs to be posted again with the names of the Virus/Spyware/Adware. Type these names exactly as listed by the site. Changes in the names can lead you into the wrong removal procedures.
You can type the correct name into the Google or Yahoo search engine and you will get all kinds of sites listed to help remove it.
Some of theses sites are bogus so I suggest you use the Free McAfee program called site advisor. It will warn you of these bad sites they have tested. Their site explains how it works. It works with the IE and Firefox Browsers.

You misread "F8" (the letter eight) as "FB". Just reboot your computer and keep hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you see a menu come up where you can choose to boot in safe mode.

Press F8 on startup, it may take a few seconds to get to where this will work, and then you will get a few option, and just press the down key until you get to the safe mode option and press enter!

it is NOT F B........ it is F 8 (the number eight)
This is the row of Function keys alone the top row of keys.
They should read F1 thru F12
Just keep tapping F8 while the puter is booting up and don't stop until you see the Safe Mode screen.
