First time: A) Follow the time-tested route. It may have been done before, but not by me, and there has to be a reason it's so popular, don't you think?
Next time: B) Travel off the beaten path. I already know the basics, it's time for the advanced course.
Make sense?

Both, it all depends on the situation. In most cases I want to learn and explore so I am willing to make mistakes but at other times concerning more delicate subjects, such as children and family the tried and true tested ways may be more acceptable. Now a weekend away with my wife in a king size bed and things are going to get a little of the beaten path. Sorry about the sexual referance but, hey, I am a guy. I'd rather take the long way on road trips, I love to listen to the Grateful Dead, their music is always different. New Food, Yummy, Tried bungee Jumping and I used to sky dive. I see, in looking back, that I have been off the path more than on the path and I times I made my own path. There were times when I was lost but seemed to always make it home.. Life is short we minght as well have some fun..

I do my own thing. Sometime's that turns out to be the time tested route and sometimes not. But if both look like they'll work just as well I'll certainly choose off the beaten path, that's how it goes most of the time.

I don't have a preference either way. If I'm in a hurry, I'll follow the normal route. If I have plenty of time and think about it, I'll travel off the beaten path.

B) If you travel off the beaten path you always chance ending up somewhere else....but you might like the place you end up better....if you follow the time-tested route....everything always turns out the same....and who wants that?

I always like to do something different and learn new things so I would travel off the beaten path.

B) Travel off the beaten path
Because it involves taking risks. If you find out that you've made a mistake, then you learn from it!
Predictability is too boring.

B] I hate anything to do with organization, so if I travel off the beaten path I can take my time.

B). Off the beaten path because you'll never know what you will see around the next bend. I like new and different things. Besides everyone and their brother is on the other path rushing around.
