Instead of saying "a successful cook" you could say "a skilled cook" or "an effective cook."
Instead of saying "a successful accountant" you could say "an accountant who has surpassed expecations in every assigned task" or "a proficient accountant."
Instead of saying "I was successful in graduate school" you could say "All my grades exceeded school norms and I was commended by two professors," or you could say "I displayed an exceptional capability to comprehend all graduate school subjects, as evidenced by top-notch grades.
Instead of saying "I was successful as a landscaper" you could say "I was an accomplished landscaper" or "I am an experienced, capable landscaper."
