If I were $45,000 in debt to Revenue Canada, and were to die tomorrow,(theoretical,not suicidal) would my family have to pay it.? Please don't answer if you are from the States, the rules are a lot different!

From Canada, but I really don't know for sure. I actually asked my friend this a few months ago and he seemed to think that your family would be responsible....

But how far would that go? What if I never saw my parents....for like 25 years, say we didn't like eachother, then one day after 25 years they have to pay $45,000? Or what if all I had was an aunt or grandmother? How far would the debt extend?

Sorry. Can't answer your question, but I wouldn't think the family would have to pay.

No the revenuers cannot collect from them. Always die heavily in debt to the assholes.

If you are married then your spouse would have to pay if you are over 18 than your dept dies with you unless there is a co singer and then they would have to pay for it.

No unless you state so in your will, your family will not have to pay for it .
