I put an open box of baking soda in frig section and another in freezer section after wiping it out good with water & regular dish soap. Check the freezer section for outdated food & clean it periodically. Be careful not to use cleaning solutions that have
a strong odor; some foods will pick up these odors and will taste.
I change the soda boxes every three months. Just get the smallest size box and cut the top off & place in back of frig (out of the way.

clean the drip tray under it if your ice cream was too close to the back wall it may have melted some ran it down the drain and into the drain pan. you have a trap in the drain line also .use 1/4 cup of Clorox bleach in 2 cups of water wash down the box inside& out with this formula dump 1 cup of this bleach water down the drain .it will clean the trap& end up in the pan . use a shop vacto clean out the pan. the pan will not come out of newer friges. if the odor is imbeded in the liner use charcoal 4 broketts in frezer&4 in frig. in glass bowl. change once a week . charcoal can still be used in grill dont throw it away.

If you like the smell of freshly made coffee try this.

Make some freshly ground coffee and leave the used coffee powder/sludge in the fridge over night. Your fridge will smell of coffee.

The next time you wipe out your fridge clean your freezer as well. Add a couple of table spoons of baking soda to your soap and water when you clean it. After it is dry add a box of baking soda to your fridge AND freezer.

Put some bicarbonate of soda in an eggcup and leave it in there, it'll absorb any odours. Change it every week or 2 to keep it dry and fresh. Its what they put in thiose odour destroyers they sell to put in your fridge, thy're usually egg shaped and you leave them in the egg tray.
Dissolve 1 teaspoon bicarb in 1/4 pint very hot water, make up to 1 pint with cool water and use to clean and sterilise your worktops, fridge and freezer. Its anti fungal.
Or use a specialist fridge cleaner.

l leave a small dish of charcoal in it over night. It absorbs all the smells. Also you can use vinegar and water and some people even guarantee cleaning it with toothpaste gets rid of it. haven't tried it myself though.
