I've got some tricky knee caps and my husband and I would like to have a baby (nope, not pregnant yet). I'm doing exercises to strengthen my legs (which is the best treatment for me at the time being), so this is a question specifically for the pain. I know if I do become pregnant there won't be much I can take other than a bit of tylenol. What else can I do to cope with the pain when the time comes?

Try ice packs or heat packs on your knees (depending on the kind of pain at the time). I personally find heat better than cold for dealing with joint pain.

Also, it sounds weird, but just give yourself up to it. It's a bit of a mental exercise but can be surprisingly effective. Fighting pain just makes you more tired and makes the pain worse. If you just accept you are in pain instead of trying to fight it off then you will have an easier time coping with it. It sounds crazy but it works for me.

Sometimes there's no way around it- you've got to take an advil. But I've found that if you drink lots of water and get a massage that helps a lot. Stay off your feet when you don't need to be on them- gett an ottoman. As it progresses to the final countdown, it gets harder and harder. Do yoga and calisthentics before you get pregnant so you can carry your body wieght properly and recognize temporary pain from permanent pain.

Have you ever tried acupuncture? You should watch your stance or the way you stand. You need to shift back and forth so you don't have all of you weight on one leg all of the time. Also, don't lock your leg back. I had one after years of standing. One other thing. Proper shoes make a huge difference. I was told to wear a heal, not high heal. A sandal is not very good either. Ask your DR. Hope this helps.

Use icy hot treatments. The actual thing should work or even the icy hot knee brace works because it keeps it in place. If you don't like this then try ice packs and hot baths. The icy cold numbs the pains away while the heat soothes it.

i know what youre feeling. i have alot of injuries from playing sports. messed up my ankles (both 3mths apart) i couldnt walk for six months. i hurt my back playing football against a guy who was close to playing for nfl and xfl(first mistake) i weighed 150 at the time to his 200+.i got home and coulndt get out of bed the next day.dr said i disjointed my back and severly bruised my ribs that caused me to develop arthritis. i got hit from the back and my neck got stuck in one position for like 2 months. and for regular wear and tear... my knees and my right wrist, and on occassion i get a sharp shoulder pain that renders my left arm useless.

as for my feelings toward pain meds. i used to get real bad headaches and dr couldnt find what was causing it. he rx'd me 1000 mg motrin... it didnt work then he gave me a pill smaller than a tic tac that knocked me out for 13 days. needless to say i now HATE pills.

i dealt with pain until i found Tahitian Noni Juice now i feel alot better and i can move alot better i can play ball again so that what i think you should use. its all natural cant overdose on it. its great.

if you wanna know how to get it email me

did i mention im only 24?
