Informed people want to know. Is there ever a time to think INSIDE the box?

to me the "box" would be any way of thinking on any idea that did not allow or want any growth...the "accepted" way to think....education attempts to instill in people the ability to formulate new ideas to either change the box or build on it...so, yes i think there is a time to think inside the box if it is beneficial to society in a time of crisis or need...i think there is also those that refuse to have anything to do with the box even if it contains solid and proven ideas either because they want desperately to be different or to be praised for having new ideas...so, imo we need the box AND the ability to think outside it to improve our existance.

I do think outside the box. Though the "box" is in my mind, a state of mind where the box is metaphorical to be used as a prison for common thoughts that have been used in the past before. Where there are no new answers or questions. When thinking outside the "box", you are thinking innovative thoughts that would change the greater. Outside is not of the norm. It is what makes something avobe average. Average, dull, boring are all inside this "box"

Yes, when we question being as being, or reality, or existence, or god (lots of names for the same thing), we are "inside" the box so to speak, thus none of us can really know or come to agreements on "thing(s)" like that. I think outside the box when I am on the outside of a thing (like a box, that looks brown and squary I guess). But is there an inside and an outside in the first place? Or does it just keep going?

My dorm room was box-like. So if I did homework in study groups in the hall I was thinking outside of the box. I did homework in my room I was thinking inside of the box.In this case, the time to think inside of the box is writing essays. Ironic, uhn?

of course there is time. thinking outside the box is just when you think differently. there is no real box. but i guess for fun you could pretend there was one. like say you invented a great recipie for pizza-putting applesauce and and lemon juice on it you could say you think outside the pizza box.

everyone gets a chance to think outside the "box"....but some people dont really think differently than most people and dont have original thoughts, so they usually think inside the box

i think inside what is simultaneously the most liberating *and* the most confining box i can conceive of: the human brain.

in my lifetime i don't we'll ever exactly get outside of it... but i like to look for windows, and at least cool breezes from the next room.

this question is so complicated that i could answer it a thousand ways... but i only have this small box to write in. how fitting (no pun intended).

I think outside the box all the time. Like when I came up with my nickname, PunForTheDeaf.

Why have you been trained to be in the box in the first place? Is it a little box, or a big box? I think outside the circle because it was too constrictive...........
