I don't think there is anything cheesy about having a pet name for your spouse/lover. I think that if you two like it that is all that should matter. Don't worry about what other people think. If you think your names are silly try listening to other couples when they are around town. Trust me what may sound silly to you might sound perfectly fine to them. Don't worry about it so much. My fiance calls me honey; I call him old fart or old buzzard. Everyone who knows him, including his teen girls, call him old fart and old buzzard and say that he is older than time, etc. lol
