I think you mean Limewire and technically, yes, some movies. But, it's not exactly legal. However, if you already own the title you are downloading then I don't have a problem with that. Should the MPAA (or whatever agency exists in your country) should catch you, the fines will be... VERY stiff.

There isn't such a thing a free and legal, very often, especially when talking about P2P software.

Yep, and it's illegal. But think of it this way. If the authorities catch you, try your luck at the lotto because everybody uses file-sharing and to get singled out is about the same chance as winning a jackpot.
