You usually make up for your sleep at a different time of day. Don't do that. Skip over that time, I don't care how tired you get. then go to sleep the NEXT day when you're regularly scheduled to, even if you can't sleep, especially the first night. Rinse and repeat. Exercise does help. Do this, You'll get back on track.

you can try exhausting yourself with physical labour or perhaps have a really hot shower or bath drink warm milk because it has no caffeine like coffee or tea, stay away from all caffeine products from the afternoon on, eat your dinner early so that a full stomach doesnt interfear with sleep, which it can or perhaps purchase some over the counter sleep aids or gravol and an aspirin seems to work for some. read until your eyes are too exhausted to read another word.

Take Melatonin and Valerian Root 45 minutes before you need to go to bed. You can get these at Wal-Mart. Also, if you do other things in bed besides sleep and sex, it programs your brain to not focus on bed = sleep. Don't do anything else in bed.
Sweet dreams.

yr question is really unclear, but if you're wanting to get to sleep earlier or have more restful sleep --
try taking the herbs "skullcap" and "valerian root," "Kava kava." They all are calmatives and help you sleep and feel relaxed. You can make teas out of these herbs, buy them in a tincture or in capsule pills. just google them or try www.wholehealthmd.com under the yellow/orange "resources" tab, under supplements for more info.

Have a warm bath. If you are into meditation, do that afterwards or some yoga to help relax you. You'll fall asleep very quickly after.
