Newport/huntington beach. There was a place down on the beach i think it was closer to laguna beach but it was sort of secluded and the sunset was amazing with i think its catalina island in background. Anyhow i always had a nice romantic time with my gf there. But i moved back to new york about 5 years ago so dont really know the area upto date.
If you like hiking a little bit hollywood hills is a nice walk up through Admirs Garden. not a serious hike you do not need to "gear up"

I really like Olvera Street. It is like a mini-Tijuana, without the poverty. But there are so many places to go in those two counties: Beaches, Mountains, Hollywood, Studios, so much to do.
