sounds like you may have a legitimate social anxiety disorder. someone in the psychological field should be able to answer your questions. also, try and sit in fornt of a mirror and ask youself questions. look at yourself. don't you get uncomfortable about how you look or the sound of your voice or anything like that? those types of things are very common. however your severe reaction tells me that its much more serious than that. is it all types of people that make you react that way? do you have friends that you're comfortable with? it may honestly be something you cannot "get over". you may need to see a psychologist to get some professional guidance.

Try to imagine that they're scared of you, too. Believe it or not, most people feel deep insecurities and fears...some of them are just really good at hiding it. Try meditation. It works. Try and get out of yourself, study other people, watch them. Don't judge them...just observe. Hang out with children. Be a child. Don't worry about what other people think of you (I'm sure you've heard that one) but do it for real. You're fine.

Its one of those things where you have to suck it up, and enjoy where ever you are. Don't think about them as people, but as play things. If you observe thier behavior, you might learn a lot more about your own. Just seize the day....

Sounds like you have social phobia...I would try going to a doctor and getting on meds, or trying therapy and talking through this issue.. I think simply exposing yourself gradually to people would probably worsen the problems if you weren't on meds or in therapy..
