Personally I think the whole "if the refs taken action during the game then no more action should be taken" rubbish is just a smokescreen for the powers that be like to hide behind.

Think of all the fuss that's been made about zidane, (and rightly so) but at the end of the day Figo did the same and the ref didn't see it and he only got a yellow.

Video Evidence should be used to punish players for violence and simulation. I think sending him home may have been a bit harsh though.

He was carded, he got a yellow card. He didn't headbutt him that hard and it was at the time when the ref was losing control of the game. He probably could of got a red, but let's face it, the ref did a horrible job in that game.

no!!! its not enough to get red carded. maybe yellow but it wasnt a big deal. and if you think about it what game was just rough throughout the whole thing. how many people got redcarded? like 5ish? i loved watching that game it was soo intense! im just happy portugal won! but i know what you mean. i think he just didnt get carded becasue everyone in that game was being rough. haha theyh couldnt card everyone!

he should have been red carded but apparently the referee missed that..probably too bogged down by all the other fouls that were already being committed in that game

He was carded. Yellow. But yeah, it should have been red.
