I think Zidane was not better than Canavaro.. For the record I love Zidane.. but actually Canavaro had solid performances during this Tournament in every match.. Zidane played well against Brazil but he was Horrible at the first round.. he was good against spain.. and he did not perform well against Portugal.. What do you think?

I'm happy to see somebody else who finds Fabio Canavaro to be one of the best players in the Worldcup 0/6. Canavaro is the Worlds best defender. He was soo energetic throughout the whole tournament and is also the captain of the Italian team. I know Zidane is an amazing player but he eneded the game and his carrear with a redcard and was not a good-sport at all. Canavaro went into each game with a positive attitude and good teamwork skills.

Cana-who? Exactly, a no one. Just because he was captain of the winning team does not mean he deserved the mvp.
Zidane was clearly the best. 1 inch away from having 2 goals yesterday as well.

I thought Canavarro deserved it more. But Zidane is the person who took the French team to the final, so I guess thats fair too.

No one deserved this award more than Zinedine Zidane. Canavarro was close, but not better than Zizou. I think the best player won!

Cannavar definately deserved it. He played extremely well, and he didn't act like an immature idiot during the World Cup with actions that could have been deadly.

canavarro played his behin off, but the truth is that very rarely will a player who plays defence be named the best player of the world cup. Fifa figures that it is a lot easier to defend than to attack, which is somewhat true
