I have been with my partner for 4 1/2 yrs now. My divorce got finalized on Dec/05. He wants to get divorced but since we have a big mortgage pymt and he's the one in charge in giving the pymt, he says he has no money to pay for the divorce. He asked me if I would pay for it. Would that look bad or not? He wants to get married but we have to wait until he is divorced. Should I pay for it?

Well, you would think that his divorce would be more important to him because a divorce from his last wife means he can marry you! He may really not see a problem with having you pay for his divorce. If the reason is sincere, and he really does want to be divorced and to remarry you, then whats the problem? But only do it if it really does not bother you. don't do it if it something that will continue to bother you down the road.
Good luck!

Hell no. If he wants out of his divorce so bad he will do whatever he has to do to get his divorce final.

sure why not, if you are in a committed relationship and treat each others money as if you are partners (like him paying the mortgage) then there is nothing wrong with it.

why don't you just help pay some of the mortgage and let him pay for his divorce. then you won't actually be paying for it. you'll be paying for somewhere to live.

i would only pay half, cause more than that make you look sad, and tell him to contact legal aid.
