So you don't give up . Because if you give up you die and come back to the same **** hole life you tried to ignore. If you care you move forward. If you move forward you learn. If you learn you find more things to care for. If you have more things to care for you just might find happiness. If you find some happiness you'll continue to grow. If you grow enough you won't have to come back to a shitty life when you die~~~you will move on~~~find a better existence.

Sounds like you need someone to care about you. If you have someone, get close to them. You will feel better and your careing will be returned. Everyone needs to be loved and cared for. It makes our life on earth easier.

All emotional semantics aside, we care because it's better for society, and being part of society, better for us. When we allow bad things to happen through apathy, it makes the world more diffifcult to live in, peacefully.
IE: The old adage, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
