WMP 11 is still in Beta testing. That means it still has problems and Microsoft is hoping real people will find and report those problems.
WMP 10 has been around long enough that it's pretty stable, has minimal problems, and is usually sufficient for most people.
If you want to experiment with a new and still unproven product, get WMP 11. You might discover a previously unreported problem and become famous. You might also wind up with a computer than can only be used as a boat anchor.
If you want a slightly more boring but more reliable product, get WMP 10. But you'll never become famous! And you'll have to go to a marine supply house to get an anchor! :-)

Eventually 11 will be better than 10. However, 11 is still under testing (beta) and is scheduled to be packaged with Windows Vista and available for Windows XP.
Until that time, I recommend staying with version 10 because any software in beta form is still susceptible to security attacks or bugs that may not make certain features or the software itself not function correctly.

Stick with verson 10 for now. Version 11 is in beta, a type of public testing. If something goes wrong with your machine because of the beta software on it, you'll be stuck without any support whatsoever. Beta software can be very buggy!
Once the full public release is made available, feel free to download and install it.

Neither. I never upgraded from Version 9, but don't use it anyways. WinAmp for Audio, VLC for Video. That's all I need.
