Seriously, I am a white woman with a bi racial child. My baby is one year old and I have no idea how to do her hair. Where am I supposed to learn how to do her hair? Luckily her hair is still short. It's not our fault! Why does it bother you so much? We do the best we can! AAARRRGGHHH! Stop pointing your finger at everyone else and take care of your own business! Especially over something so small!

White woman can do french braids. That's not the problem. The problem is keeping our child still while trying to do tiny tiny ones. and OMG!! What are pressing combs??????????

I guess they need a black mother to teach them. A white woman unless she does hair for a living, wouldn't have a clue. But at the same time, a white woman wouldn't know much about black culture in general I would guess, so there would be more gaps probably than just in doing a child's hair. Maybe it is because they don't realize there is this culture gap, so they don't know, that they need to take the time to learn these things. If I were to have interracial children, I would want them to have the best of both worlds.

Well...I'm a white women, with a black husband...meaning we will have hair to do in the future...I thought about the same thing...are my kids going to walk around with their hair like that??? SO I have been doing the hair of the little girl across the way (she is black) and it has helped...So I'm not going to be that kind of "white women" but I know what your talking about...they should at least take the time to learn to do their kids hair..

It's not just white women, I'm black and I keep my hair short because I don't know how to do hair. Thank God I have a son and not a daughter, because she would be in so much trouble.

I believe you are incorrect. Many white mothers of black children do just fine. It's interesting to me that you have noticed those who do not have nice hair more than those who do. You may wish to examine why you have come to this conclusion and why it was so important to ask it on this board. You may have a hidden prejudice.

that is not all white women with black kids, my daughter as three half black kids and now the kids are getting older, it is getting easier to take care of their hair. when they are really young they don't like to sit still.

but i have seen black kids and adults who need to have their hair picked out also. maybe you can ask them if they would like some help and teach them how to take care of their hair. especially if they are your friend, i don't think they would mind.

good luck and i hope you can help some while lady with her black kids.

I'm white and my daughter is bi-racial and her hair always looked nice when she was growing up, and now that she is 19 she looks great. I think the same thing about black mothers who let their children's hair become over-processed and it looks nappy!!

i feel u on that but i have seen sum black kids who have a white mom whose hair looks really good. instead of taking them to a normal hair salon they take them to a black salon to get there hair done...which shows even tho the mom doesnt know much about black hair she aint gona have her baby lookn a mess.

I'm afraid that generalization isn't accurate. My son is half African American and I did his hair just fine. I've known several people who have children of mixed races, and their hair looked fine. Perhaps you should do some research before making such accusations.

because black hair is differnt than white hair and they are afraid to ask for help. My friends mother was babysitting and didn't know how to fix the baby's hair. She also wanted to know what to put on babys skin.
