Shakespere is so modern...if you can just get over the stereotypical delivery...the sentiment is applicable to todays pulse.

I prefer the old stuff, most especially Will Shakespeare! Today's theater caters to two groups of people; snobs, or idiots, because everything that's popular is either pointless slap-stick or high-brow meanderings that have no real effect on an individuals life.
Will wrote for the people and he learned from other masters, like Plato, who wrote to change people, their view points, their desires and motivations. I wish theater today could claim such glory, but some how I doubt it.

Move over, this is my kind of question. First of all Shakespeare is forever young and just as modern as any of today's plays.
Secondly, 'prefer' means you might be reluctant to experience the other. Theatre is as old as the hills and new as tomorrow, embrace it and enrich yourself. And keep me in work. Oh ,what a give-away.

I much prefer modern stuff. I'm afraid I've never got along with Shakespeare.

Anything that is actually live theater is fine with me as long as it's not too much "performance art" and doesn't involve distorted representations of sexuality or nonsensical violence. I like both Shakespeare and the modern stuff. Especially the comedies.

I can appreciate and enjoy both. I think excellent theater is timeless. I love everything from Hamlet and Romeo & Juliet to A Raisin in the Sun and The Color Purple! (not to mention all the broadway, off-broadway and community theater in between.) There is a humanity in the stories to which everyone can relate.

I favor to have a distinct song palette, so I hearken to multiple new and previous song. i will't say I favor one over the different; often times, i'm contained in the mood for some strong ol' Led Zep or grateful useless, and many times i'm contained in the mood for more recent song like My Chemical Romance, Blink-182, Sum 40-one, etc.
