I entered a christmas ornament into our county fair, now I just have to make one. Any ideas/suggestions on what I should make? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

when showing your chosen ornament...i have a sugesstion to further the WOW factor.....for the standard hook, manipulate a piece of wire but add crystal beads to the wire for sparkle factorjust kink wire under each bead so they will stay....this hook concept can be used with any ornament......

as for an ornament......i would suggest crystal icicles....bead different lengths of clear(silver foil lined-or AB) seed or E beads onto tigertail(again different lengths) and add a 4mm crystal dangle to the bottom....these on the tree are gorgeous!...good luck!

Here's one that I make all the time. Buy a clear glass ball. Take some Elmer's glue and dilute it with some water. You will want to make it runny. Pour the glue into the glass ornament and swirl it around so it coats the whole inside of the ball. Then you take glitter, just one color or you can mix colors and you put the glitter inside the ball and shake it around the inside. You will want to make sure you put in quite a bit. After it's all coated inside you will want to shake out the excess. Tip the ball upside down into a plastic cup or something so the excess glitter and glue can drain. After a day or so the inside will be dry and you can decorate the hook part with ribbon or anything else you would like. These ornaments look really cool on the tree because the glitter reflects the Christmas lights. Have fun!

My favorite is to take a clear glass ornament and 4 different colors of acrylic paint. Drip paint inside the ornament then shake like crazy in different directions. This will create a beautiful marbled ornament with colors that will look shiny but won't scratch off.

A quaint country-style ornament can be made from gingerbread-colored felt, fabric paint, glue and buttons. Cut out 2 house shapes - basic triangle on top of a square. Sew or glue together with polyfil inside. Paint a scallop along roof line and glue multi-colored buttons along roof line between scallop and roof. Paint door and windows and glue a button on for the door handle.

Another quick, easy, attractive ornament can be made by taking a styrofoam ball and scraps of different fabrics. Using a metal butter knife, carefully wedge the fabrics in a scattered or planned pattern around the ball for a lovely, quilted look.

You can also check out about.com and search for Christmas ornaments. Hi...

Here is one I do with my students....

you take a whisk...you can braid fabric or string around the handle part (loop a piece of ribbon thru the top hole...as a hanger)
and fill the whisk with hershey kisses, or put potpourri in a small canvas bag and put in there...there are cute poems on line..just got to google it....

just a thought....

good luck!

Well one idea is to buy clear glass ornament balls and paint-glue little squares of tissue paper onto it. I'm sure you could also add glitter, rhinestones, etc.
