Copy means to highlight what areas in an open document you want to copy, and paste means to bring that information into another document. I could highlight what I just wrote here to you by highlighting the text and hitting "control C" (to copy) or right clicking and choosing "copy" from the drop menu that will appear, then open up, say, my email. I can choose to create a new email, then hit "control V" or going to my edit menu and choosing "paste" while my cursor is in the new document, and what I copied from this page will appear.

Hope that helps, but it's different in other programs occasionally, but that's the gist of it.

Use the mouse curser, highlight any text, press CTRL and C at the same time. That copies the text. Now open something like notepad and press CTRL and V and that will paste it. Or put what you just copied into the notepad, you can use this in any text field.

it is a word processing term used to discribe the action of coping the exact word or phrase and using it else where. It is done so you do not have to retype the same words over again.

First you highlight and copy the text and then paste the text where you want it repeated
