On the other hand, I never really converse with a lot people... that is probably why I've had to say "no" so little of the time.

When on the phone I keep saying yes, aha, yes, yep, yes. I think that makes up for a lot of no's.

Psychologically, negatives are treated more importantly, so it's we try not to confuse who we're speaking to. So, we tend to articulate negatives simply, making "no" more common.
