And do they get yelled at for stepping on the grass?
I know that sometimes the signs are so close to the walkway that they don't need to step onto the grass, but sometimes they just don't set it right next to the walkway; sometimes they actually have to step on the grass to set the sign up, and those are the cases I'm inquiring about.

Here's my take on your inquiry...
It is my belief that they are thrown there like lawn darts,Used to call em Jarts...
A couple of dudes just go around the perimeter of the home/business...
And it's darts,i mean signs away...
A nice high arch and slam...in the ground...
I really think i got them on how they do this...
But it must be in the middle of the night...
So they aren't seen.And looking at how off-set the signs are when you see them in the morning...
This has to be how it's done...
Because they too,are supposed to stay off the grass...
And judging how you see some of the signs crooked and falling over,or in bushes...
There could be no other explanation...
Than just tossing them in the hopes that they stick straght,and actually placed on said grass...

I DO!!!! i can't wait till someone comes on my yard... cause the police say i can shoot them... and i didn't get an AK all the way from Russia for nothing... i'm serious, in Sweden, we can put gates, anything that means "do not disturb". And when the rule is broken, we'll break the law too, without breaking the law literally...
so if ur coming to sweden, watch out.... maybe i'm just the one like that over here... who knows?

The majority of the time it is because the grass has been treated with fertilizer/weed killer/bug killer. It is put there for YOUR safety from the chemicals
