What do single parents do when they have always have had a strong desire to join the military but have their child to think about? Is it possible to join without hurting the child or our feelings?

You'll have to ask yourself if joining the Army is more important than watching your baby grow up and if you'd be willing to die for the Army - knowing you'd never get to watch her grow into a woman.
Could you handle being away from your daughter and missing all the important moments in her life? First step, first word... Who will raise her when you're gone?

Can you not wait to do military service until the child is in school or something? I would hate to leave my 5-month old, and miss all the exciting things that happen in those first couple of years.

Another thing: This might be selfish of you to your daughter - there is a war going on - she may have to grow up without a mom. Try to wait until it's over, and your child is older.

You really now have to put your choices aside and think of your child. What would happen to your child if you get killed, or seriously disabled? Your daughter should be your #1 priority. So, in my opinion, your duty is being a good mom, and raising your daughter properly. God has allowed you to have a child, so now it's your responsibility to raise that child, to the best of your abilities. Best of luck to you...........

When you have a child you care for that child and all selfish reasons must be put to rest. Change your mind.
