Lets make a vote to show we care about global warming. Lets switch off as much unneccesary electrical equipment as we can on Saturday at 18.00 gmt. It will make world headlines if we all do it.

If global warming actually existed, I'd have no problem participating, sadly its all made up. We have bigger fish to fry.

Is it a 1 time thing? Or ongoing? Ongoing! Look at what's needed/important where you live! You can only help to change where you live 1st.. Then others will follow only if the next generation does what you all do! Providing outerwear for the homeless, feeding the homeless, or a food drive for the poor, Christmas gifts for needy kids! Paint up, fix up ,clean up a house, vacant lot, adopt a section of highway to clean up. Painting over graffiti (keep in mind! You need to use the same paint color as is on the building!). It has to be something that others will continue!

There are too many people who misuse this forum to bang their political drum as it is, just repeating the same thing over and over again just gets on peoples nerves and won't achieve anything.
I already switch off anything I'm not using plus I use low energy light bulbs; it saves on the electricity bill. If anything is likely to make people think about energy saving its that. Since that puts less demand on the power stations its a good a message as any, plus people see they get some personal benefit from it.

It's a nice thought! But as you can see there are too many different opinions out there to get every one together on this one. As previosly stated by others, I already conserve as much a possible. I don't like paying for things I'm not useing. But keep the effort, who knows - you just may be the one to come up with the plan that works!!

I am totally with you on this "switch off electronics" thing, and everyone doing it will be great, but making headlines... whatever, nice to know you want to join our Break the Addiction campaign! Jason check your facts idiot. In any case even if it were made up it does no harm conserving energy and in the process reducing polluting harmful greenhouse gases.
Are you american?
PS I have just turned off all the houses' TV's (ie completely off instead of leaving them on STAND-BY!) apparently leaving electricals on stand by can account for up to 10% of your energy bill.

Wlel already turn off my electrical equipement when I'mnot using it. Also i try to recycle. I don't litter I'm already doing my bit.
