Help yourself and go with your gut. Most jobs or careers respect the fact that you actually went to college and sat in the classroom to learn through the professor. It will give you the chance to grow socially and make new friends. Do what pleases you, not others. You will see that you will become more respected by your peers through a higher education and stepping out into the world to conquer your dreams. Chin up. Smile :) Your on your way! Good luck.

i've made the move to go from D.C. to Chicago. I've loved my decision. You know matter what college you go to you'll aways meeting new people and friends. You friends right now may not be your friends 5-10 years down the road. You might join a sorority or fraternity, Student Government or Activities group, or even different class time.

Your "friends" excuse is like that of "the girlfriend or boyfriend" excuse. You have to do what's best for you, your career goals, life goals, and your wants and dreams. Not theirs.

The decision is really up to you. If you let your friends make the decision for you, you'll regret it. Plus actual college life is an entirely new experience that you can't get from online. Just tell your friends, that you will write and visit when you can. If they are truly your friends, they will let you go and support your decision. I hope this helps, and hope your happy with which ever you choose.

Move away if you want to. Don't let your friends influence you. You're going to college which means you are now an independant adult. You have to make your own decisions and this is one of them.

Besides, you can always come see your friends on weekends, school vacations, and during the summer. Not to mention call, email, and IM them.

Make the big move! You will make new friends, and your friends can come and visit you! Think about it okay? Parties, Parties, boys, girls, whatever you're into, new scenery, new life, new experiences.

I didn't go to a four year school, but I went into the military, and that's what it was like for me leaving at 19.

Honey if you want to move away you do that and if those were your real friends they will support you in anything you want to do. I can understand alitte because they want to be with you. But just think if you don't go and try all you will do is wonder what it would of been like if you did go away. And worst to worst you can always come back.

well, it's hard to move away from family and friends. but you need to be your own person. think about about how far it is and if you can go home on weekends now and then. you will meet new friends at college. sometimes we have to do what is right for us. good luck!

And if all of your friends jumped off of a bridge, would you do it too? Just kidding (sort of). If they are true friends, they will always be your friends whether you are separated by 100's of miles or not.
