For one, meaningfulness is gone. Now there are only trends. For instance, like snap music, a few years ago, we were talking about bling, bling. Once that faded, we were talking about gettin' crunk. Then that faded, and now we are talking about snappin. and guess now? This will fade and the next trend will fade. The old rap wasn't a trend that was just popular right then. It had meaning - whatever that meaning was - and it was original. Another reason is money. Money makes the world go around and what is the quickest way to make money right now as a rapper? Make something they can snap to. Last reason is new rap is too commercial. The good quality stuff is underground!!

Because The South's style of rap consists mostly of snapping, kind of like the bay and hyphy, well since the South is extremely popular right now, the most music that is aired has something to do with snapping.

The content of rap music has pretty much been tha same these days along with the videos. Its all about the MONEY, CARS, and HOS. Now, though, the rapper is standing next to the car, holding some money, while the hos snap they fingaz to the song. (sorry if the word 'ho" offended anyone).

because that is the latest movement out of Atlanta and most of the rappers now are from the A-town. pretty soon we will have the "hyphy movement" from the Bay area and that is all we will hear about. i personally prefer the snap movement because i'm an A-town representa.

The simpler they keep it, the easier they can track what sells records. Music industry has us thinking that if the album good it will sell/if it sells it's good.
The only question is, will you pay for garbage, just because a million others did?

I like snap music too, but I agree with you it's starting to take over and becoming unoriginal (b/c everybody's trying to do it).

Basically, ALL music sucks now. Too many untalented people are getting paid, which is why I quit buying CD's and stopped listening to radio.
