First of all don't send cash.
Second put it in a money order or check. you can get a tax deduction if you make a lot of donations through out the year, but their is a limit you can give with out an income tax penalty.
Third, it depends on where you are sending it to; it usually goes by zip code, and weight, take it to a post office to be sure.

Never send cash in the mail. Take it to the bank and get a money order or something, then take it to the post office and have it weighed for the correct postage.

go to your local post office and have them weigh the parcel if it weighs more than one ounce then you need two stamps....
