well in school we have been taught that theres only a little percentage of the world that is actually left handed(11% or something low like that), so they could be considered smarter because there is a lot less of them then there is right handed people, but to tell you my honest opnion; people are people, we're all the same, we just learn things differently, and we each have our own 'smarts' in different things, so no I don't think there is.

If there is about a 9/1 ratio of right handed to left handed people, I think it can be assumed with 90% certainty that God is right handed. And since God is (probably) a pretty smart guy, it makes sense that he would want to make the right handed people smarter than the lefties. That also may be why there are more righties than lefties, because God wanted the world to be a smarter place (than it would be if it was evenly divided among left and right handed people).

I'm left-handed and, yes, it's true (at least a little bit).

The left side of the brain controls the right side of the body, and the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body. So whereas right-handers can only access the left side of their brain, left-handers (right brain) living in a right-handed world (left brain) are more able to access both sides of our brain.

Thus, we have more brain power at our fingertips and tend to be both analytical and creative, whereas right-handers are one or the other.

Uh, not that I've seen...I've known one who graduated from high school but couldn't actually read...one who is a math genius with a Ph.D. but doesn't know enough to bathe on a regular basis and both of my grandparents are lefties. They are very sweet but not functioning at genius level. Just normal people.

I like to think so, but then again, I'm left handed.

this is an interesting question. My automatic instinct is "no," but the more I think about it, two of the smartest kids in my grade are left handed... hmmmmmm.

They experience more stress in their lifetimes, but I don't believe there is evidence supporting an increased intelligence.
