Yes, the characters and situations were great. Opus seems like a pale derivate.
By the way, Berke Breathed was way cute as well . . . probably still is

Good God, yes! Opus is nice, and very cerebreal as well as funny; but Bloom County was one of a kind, once in a lifetime.
