I would want to stay home and maybe just work part time, that way i could do both.

The choice to do one or the other when you want would be nice because sometimes you just need to get away from the house and sometimes you need to get away from the office.

If their were kids in the picture then I would want to stay at home...or at least be home when they are. My mom was able to do that for a long time. I want to do the same for my kids. Stay at home while they are babies. Maybe have a home business but nothing serious that will take away from my time with my kids (They aren't kids forever) Take a part time job when all kids are in school. Take a full time job when the kids are old enough to entertain and take care of themselves (Basically when hanging with mom isn't "cool" anymore) so maybe 13 to 15 years old for the youngest.
That's my dream. But for now, with no kids in the picture I'm down with working. I'd be bored otherwise.

I would always choose to work - closer to home if I had the chance.......hate that commute. Unless of course, I was given the opportunity to go back to school full time, then I would stay home, finish my education and become a teacher - therefore, still choosing to work!

It depends if I had a rich, supportive husband that I could trust then I would stay home, and go to school so that if something happened I would have an education to fall back on.

I do both. I am an elementary teacher that works for 9 months (give or take) and have 3 months to recuperate from the hectic, stressful 12 hr day career.

i am a stay at home mom. it's still work but it is very gratifying. our children are being raised by our values and we don't ever have to worry about their well-being. however, i wouldn't mind a part-time job to help keep my sanity.
