I'd go with DeNiro...but it's a tough choice.
DeNiro just seems to have more range to me...from Jake LaMotta in "Raging Bull", to Leonard in "Awakenings", to Travis Bickle in "Taxi Driver", to Jack in "Meet the Parents."
Pacino has had some range, but tends to play the same tough guy a lot. "Scarface," "Carlito's Way," "The Devil's Advocate," "Scent of a Woman," "Sea of Love." Hard-*** guys, sometimes evil ones, but all tough guys. "Frankie and Johnny" would be one exception, but it is a rare one.

I love them both,but after seeing The Raging Bull with DeNiro and The Deerhunter I have to go with Robert DeNiro,plus can Al do comedy?Meet the Parents was great and so was Analyze this .Also Taxi Driver was phenomanal!!!
